3 - 1 defeat, scoreline overlooks the fact that this was a very even encounter. Top performance, matched the champions elect and only went down to that extra bit of quality and edge that a playing budget of £1,000+ a week brings. If the ref hadn't bottled the sending off in the first half the result would have undoubtedly looked different.
Great game of football regardless of allegiance, if the boys put in performances of that magnitude week in and week out, this year could be one of the best yet at the Culverden.
As for Hythe, can't see them finishing the season as anything other than champions. How they found that extra gear at the start of the second half I'll never know, good luck to them.

'scoreline overlooks the fact that this was a very even encounter', 'matched the champions elect' - Hythe missed two one on ones and hit the crossbar, Wells had chances but not as clear, and those lesser chances they did have, Hythe also had - the home side should have scored six goals.
'if the ref hadn't bottled the sending off in the first half the result would have undoubtedly looked different' - excellent decision from an otherwise average ref, the ball was pinged halfway to the corner flag when Mann made the foul, I shouldn't need to explain why it was a yellow and not a red. I suspect you are an avid Sky Sports watcher, where the rules don't get in the way of a sensational piece of commentary.
Last part of the post, thank you for your very kind words - I actually thought you were a better side than VCD or Herne Bay - mainly cos you played an attractive brand of football, however unlike the other two you persist for 90 mins despite the scoreline!

Quality trolling! Don't know what to be more surprised about, an opposition fan on our forums or the fact that the internet is present out in the sticks at Hythe (presuming you are not an Asford fan?). Good turnout by the boys in green and white yesterday, do they turn out regularly? I suspect you are an avid Sky Sports watcher, where the rules don't get in the way of a sensational piece of commentary. Alas no. Did have Setanta for a spell before their financial demise, prefer my football to be of the live variety. Having seen plenty of action across the leagues this season can say without hesitation that you'd slot into the Ryman South no problem. 200th post ;D .
