Well done to the management today for arranging a heavy defeat at home today in view of our next FA Vase opponents. It was very sensible to play the local pub keeper instead of Mikelle in a Kent Cup game, which we will all grateful to lose. Personally, I couldn't care a monkey's about this trophy, but if we play well next Saturday, we'll win money!! Our opponents will now think we're sh*t. Let's hope next Saturday, we're not.

I didn't watch today's game but from the team sheets the so called 'local pub keeper' was the same keeper who played in the 1st leg in which he never conceeded a goal. Is he as bad as you infer or was it simply a off day by the whole team?

That was Darren Ibrahim's 3rd appearance for the club, his 1st at home.
In his 1st appearance, he kept a clean sheet and received the Man of the Match award. He kept us in the game and won us the point.
In his 2nd appearance, he kept a 2nd consecutive clean sheet. He was very close to receiving the Man of the Match award again but was narrowly piped to it.
Darren Ibrahim has an impressive non-league footballing CV - we wouldn't have him otherwise. He is a great player - ask around on the Kent League forum.
A 'keeper never wants to concede 5 in any game, but at the end of the day, THE TEAM were heavily beaten.
If you say it was his fault just because we conceded 5, then how about looking beyond that at the other 10 players on the field? Could the defenders have restricted the number of shots which Ibrahim had to face? Could the midfield have had more possession of the ball and break up the 'Oaks attacks? Could our forward players have created and scored more than the 1 goal?
I know for a fact that the boys would be devastated with such a defeat, especially in front of a good home crowd and against local rivals. However, they win as a team and lose as a team - no individual will ever be blamed.
On a positive note, the last time The Wells put in a disappointing home performance which was the defeat v Greenwich, we went on a good unbeaten run scoring a hat full of goals in the process!
I guarantee that you will not see the same again next Saturday - mark my words!

Spot on Phill, its all the team not just one player (goalkeeper) should be blamed for that poor match on Saturday. This is the best squad and management at the club since I have been watching the Wells. COME ON THE WELLS.
