Another well written piece. Can't say I wholly agree with Martin's England XI though... ;D

There were a couple of hints he's a Liverpool fan from that line-up, weren't there ;D
Who would you have instead?

Would start by scrapping the so called "golden generation". The only thing golden about them were their bank balances. Would wave goodbye to 4-4-2 also. Would rebuild with this youthful line-up: ------------------------------Joe Hart---------------------------------- Kieran Gibbs--------Gary Cahill-----Chris Smalling-------Nathaniel Clyne ------------Tom Huddlestone------------Lee Cattermole--------------------- -----Adam Johnson----------Jack Wilshere-----------Jack Rodwell--------- -----------------------------Wayne Rooney-------------------------------------- Would keep tabs on Connor Wickham of Ipswich over the next few years. Looks like he could very well make the grade. Obviously very inexperienced side so would expect defeats during the team building phase, its not as if the current squad were challenging for top honours anyway. Would like to see if there are any other forumers who would like to put forward an XI.
