It's certainly true that Platini seems to have it in for the English game (not British as stated), but I couldn't care less about Arsenal getting hit by UEFA for Eduardo's dive. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Mr. Ididn't-Seeit Wenger's outrage at his compatriot's work. Quite a rant for a bloke usually looking the other way. What I do care about is that UEFA now take the first oportunity to get Ronaldo on the same charge - maybe they will, be's been tainted with time in the English Premier League. What caught my attention the other day was Platini saying something (working from memory) about transfer fees needing to come into line with club income (or did I imagine that)? Now most of the established big guns across the continent had the nouse to see it for what it was, and keep quiet. Even Notts County found it beneath comment. But which little piggy from the chasing pack should be the first to squeel? Quelle Surprise: step forward Mr. M Hughes, manager of "loads-of-money-can't-buy-class" Man City... Frankly, Mr. Platini can continue to meddle with the top club level game for all he likes - I have little, or nothing to do with it anymore. Back in the Victorian era, visitors to Bedlam Mental institute would bring long sticks to poke and provoke reactions from the patients for amusement. While here in England, that kind of behaviour is considered cruel and unacceptable today - it would appear it is alive and well in UEFA HQ, where Platini exists solely to provoke reactions from the insanity of rich-man's football. On that basis, he's certainly good at his job.
