Signed Paul Booth today from Havant - I admire their desire to buy up the entire Lewes squad from last year, but how on earth are they affording it? I know it's a tenner to get in but still...
If they want to take anything from Lewes it should be the lessons learnt this year!

Theres a lot of money in the mangels boardroom, the clubs revenue doesn't even cover half the reputed weekly wage bill.

I would imagine that they will retain most of their squad for next season. Am not that bothered about their finances but I imagine that pockets will be dipped in to in a bid to sustain their bid for Conference South footie.
Any thoughts that they are automatic certs to win the league should be treated with caution however. Either Staines or Sutton will remain in their league and whichever it is will be strong. Expect also further improvements from Hornchurch and a challenge from Dartford and Wealdstone who both seemed to have found their feet in the latter part of 08/09.
In general terms it looks to be a weaker line up for 09/10 but who knows what will happen during the current economic troubles.
I wonder what the atmosphere was like in the minute or so that spanned the Tonbridge equaliser and the Carshalton winner.

I wonder what the atmosphere was like in the minute or so that spanned the Tonbridge equaliser and the Carshalton winner. Would have been fun to witness the mangels fans suffering as they fought back from two down to throw the game away - not that I'd ever consider heading over to the Longmead stadium. Would presume that they would once again have the cash courtesy of the owners to be battling it out at the top.

Sorry Wishingwells - didn't mean to barge in there.
You'd certainly get the feeling that was their one shot at the 'big-time' in the play-offs this year, wouldn't you.
Tommy Warrilow stays, and I think I was right in reading a few were signed on contract - but let's hope for the Angels it wasn't tieing them into silly money they won't be able to honour now... hmmm...

Siggy was largely absent in our championship winning side - he was injured for most of the season, though he did pop up to score the goal that clinched the title. Excellent before that though, and should still be able to do a job at Ryman level. Also did a lot of work in the community for the club - visiting schools etc. Very nice man indeed, if a little pricey.
I hope Tonbridge put out a proper side this year for the Courier Cup - it'd be nice to see some of the Lewes boys.
